Data Deletion Instructions

Margentr provides two procedures for permanently deleting all data associated with your account. Both methods result in cascading deletion of every record we hold about you (account, Shopee data, Meta sync data, billing history, audit logs) within 30 days.

1. What Gets Deleted

When you request data deletion, the following are removed from our primary database:

  • Your user account (email, username, password hash, country, language preference, subscription status).
  • All Shopee Affiliate data you uploaded (commission reports, click reports, conversion records, import batches).
  • All Meta Ads data synced via the Meta API connection (ad accounts, campaigns, ad sets, ads, daily insights, budget snapshots, OAuth tokens — encrypted token is purged).
  • All Tag Mappings, Shopee Accounts, ad-level decision history, and per-user settings.
  • Billing history (subscription records, payment timestamps). Note: invoices required to be retained by Indonesian tax law are kept in encrypted archive for the statutory period (typically 10 years), separated from personally identifiable account data.
  • Audit log entries referring to your account.
  • All session cookies and active authentication tokens.

2. Backups

Encrypted backups taken before your deletion request continue to exist in our backup rotation (Cloudflare R2 object storage) for up to 90 days, after which they are overwritten in the normal cycle. We do not restore from these backups except in the event of catastrophic data loss, and we never access backup contents to retrieve individual user data.

3. Option A — Self-Service (Recommended)

If you have an active Margentr account, this is the fastest path:

  • Sign in to your Margentr account at https://margentr.com/login.
  • Navigate to Settings → Account.
  • Click "Delete Account" at the bottom of the page.
  • Confirm the deletion in the dialog that appears.
  • Your data starts being removed within seconds; you receive a confirmation email at your registered address.

4. Option B — Email Request

If you cannot access your account (forgotten password, account locked, etc.) or prefer to request deletion manually, email us:

  • To: admin@margentr.com
  • Subject: "Data Deletion Request"
  • Include in the body: your registered email address.
  • We will reply within 5 business days to confirm receipt and may ask one verification question to confirm you are the account owner (e.g., approximate registration date, last subscription tier).
  • Deletion is completed within 30 days of verification; we send a final confirmation email.

5. If You Connected via Meta OAuth

If you previously connected a Meta account via the in-app Connect Meta flow, deletion of your Margentr account automatically revokes our access on our side (the encrypted OAuth token is purged). For completeness you may ALSO revoke the Margentr app from your Facebook settings:

  • Open https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools or facebook.com/settings → Apps and Websites.
  • Find "Margentr" in the list of connected apps.
  • Click "Remove".
  • This stops any residual access from our side immediately, regardless of our deletion processing time.

6. Timeline Summary

Self-service: data removal starts within seconds of confirmation; cascading deletes complete within minutes; final state propagated within 30 days (backup rotation).

Email request: confirmation within 5 business days; complete deletion within 30 days from verified request.
